| Parental participation is an important part of
Greece Boys Soccer League's success. The following are
examples of the types of participation that all
parents should be willing to commit to:
See that your child fulfills his responsibilities to
the team.
Provide assistance in special events; share
driving to and from practices and games.
Get your child to practices and games on
time.
If your schedule allows, try to attend your child's
practices.
Pick up your child after practices and
games on time.
Make every effort to attend your child's
games. Encourage them with cheers and
positive comments!
No negative comments from the sidelines!
Focus on the quality of the effort put forth during the
game rather than the final score. Remember, this
is a learning league!
Provide assistance and coordination in bringing water,
oranges, etc. to games, help and assist in the
installation of nets for games.
Please don't coach from the sidelines. Doing so
undermines the teachings of the Coach, and serves only
to distract the players.
Treat all officials with respect, and as guests of our
League. Negative actions or remarks are inappropriate
and encourage players to do the same. Teach by
setting a good example!
Show respect for the coach of a team. Open criticism
is in poor taste. Should a problem develop, adults are
expected to find an appropriate time and place to advise
the coach of their concern. The Greece Boys Soccer
League provides many avenues of appeal, including
coaches, commissioners, board members, and the Executive
Board , by which any League player or parent can pursue
an issue. Again, teach by
setting a good example!
Always remember who this
league is for... your kids!.
